Your viewing experience of the MusicMaster website, as well as the web as a whole, would be much improved if you upgraded your browser.

Make It Your Own

You’re in charge with MusicMaster. Whether your needs are very simple or extremely complex, MusicMaster fits them perfectly. That’s because you control everything. Store all the information you like about each song in your library. Make it personal by selecting the colors, fonts, and layout of every screen. Add your own custom logo and colors. Build your own rules and song codes. When you’re using MusicMaster, you become the system designer. It’s that powerful, yet surprisingly simple and fun to use. It’s easy to learn because it has the familiar look and feel of other programs that you probably use every day in Windows. Basically, if you can dream it, you can do it with MusicMaster!

Everything You Ever Wanted

The most important feature of MusicMaster is its amazing flexibility. Unlike any other system, we’ve put you in charge of the database. Add in as many additional fields as you like. Eliminate any fields you don’t need. You finally have the power to build a custom scheduling system that fits your needs perfectly. We’re not talking about a handful of reference fields with custom names. You can create any combination of fields, with or without associated scheduling rules, in your MusicMaster database. The possibilities are virtually endless. Think of MusicMaster as a snowflake, because no two are ever alike!

View the Song Card

There are two ways to see your music in MusicMaster. The Song Card shows you information about one song at a time. Instantly switch back and forth from this view to the QuickEditor, which works more like a spreadsheet where you can see several songs at the same time. Both of these views have multiple custom layouts. That means you can see exactly what you need to see at all times!

Have it Your Way

Whether it’s adding Trivia to the database to give your air talent some ideas, tracking chart information like Peak Position, Debut Date or Peak Year, or memo fields for extended artist bio information or song lyrics, we can help you build the perfect database with all the fields you’ve ever wanted. Instead of keeping information in multiple places, now you’ll have it all in one place for easy reference.

Rotating Multiple Copies of the Same Song Made Easy

Many formats from Classical to Classic Rock often play more than one version of a title. MusicMaster’s Packets can keep these alternate versions together and treat them as a single song while scheduling. The Packet Type lets you decide if the scheduler will dig into the Packet to find the best song, simply alternate through the alternatives with a constant rotation, or favor one version over the others. Packets give you another layer of flexibility in the way your music gets scheduled.

Clocks Made Easy

Whether you maintain a few clocks or one for every hour of the week, you'll be amazed at how simple it will be in MusicMaster for Windows. Features you'd expect like drag and drop, swapping and cloning of elements with your mouse are all here. If you're tired of always having your Category "A" songs in the same place, you'll enjoy taking advantage of the more complex element types you'll find in MusicMaster. You'll have the flexibility to change up your category order and still maintain your overall balance. All of this means a fresher sound for your station and less editing for you.

Clocks with Category Usage

You have better things to do than to count elements and figure out how much of something you've used in a clock. Allow us to graphically show you your category and element usage. You'll see at a glance that you are getting the clock calls you want in each hour.

Scaleable Rules™

It's not artificial intelligence, but you'll still appreciate how you can make MusicMaster think more like you do. Everybody has that threshold where you say, "I can't have anything less than this, but I sure would like to get that." With Scaleable Rules™, you can add the same rule in as many times as you want with different settings. That means if you can't have anything less than five hours of minimum rest, you can make that an unbreakable rule. If what you'd really want is seven hours though, you can add the rule again with that setting and make it a breakable rule. Now, MusicMaster will never give you anything less than five but will shoot for that seven. We can hear your wheels turning now because you've realized you could do that for artist separation and all your coding rules as well. Like we said, not artificial intelligence, but still very nice!

Optimum Goal Scheduling™

We know you don't have the time to look through every possible song for every possible position in every log you schedule to find the best song. That's why we invented Optimum Goal Scheduling™. Let's face it, if you have three songs you could play, you pick the best one, right? MusicMaster can do that same thing with our Optimum Goal Scheduling™. Instead of scheduling the first song that meets all of your rules, Optimum Goal Scheduling™ looks at all of the available songs to find the best ones. With that list of best songs, it then looks at the Scheduler Goals you’ve selected and determines which one maximizes those goals. The result is the best available songs in your log.

Schedule Editing Made Easy

The MusicMaster for Windows Schedule Editor is another place for you to add your personal touch. After you've arranged the screen the way you want with the fields you need to see, you'll be able to do your most common editing functions with just a mouse click or two: Change and swap songs, review the history or rules, print and/or export the log to your automation system and even listen to the log before it airs with our many audio options.

Information Where You Want It

No matter how much screen real estate you have, you'll be able to dock or float various screens in MusicMaster windows. So whether you have a big monitor or little one; one screen or dual; everything will be in the exact place it's most comfortable for you. Each user can set this up for their style and save the setting, which means you don't even have to compromise with your co-workers on how things look.

Multiple Areas Open at Once

Of course, MusicMaster is a Windows-based program, so that means you'll be able to have several windows open within the program at the same time. You'll be able to review your clock while editing or double-check your music categories, to name a few possibilities. The screen can be tiled so you can see everything at once or you can open each to full screen and click the button at the bottom of the screen to toggle between each.

The Information You Need for Editing

From rule violations to history to snapshots of the song, MusicMaster provides you with the information you need while you're editing your log. This is just a sample of the kind of information you'll have available so you can produce the best log, in the shortest amount of time.

Manual-Assist Scheduling

Since we've all been programmers and been where you are, we know what it's like to edit a log and try to find a song to fill a position. It's not easy sometimes. With Manual-Assist Scheduling, you can interact with MusicMaster and partner in filling those tough positions. When MusicMaster can't find a song that works, it will stop and ask you for help. Once you've filled the position you tell MusicMaster to continue along. By the time the log is complete, you won't have any unscheduled positions and will likely only have to do a quick review of your log.

Powerful Analysis Tools

With our Analysis tools, you can determine how a category is rotating and get suggested settings. We'll even show you a projected graph of how the category should lay out. Our History Browser lets you pick your time frame and criteria to analyze any set or sub-set of your data to find out what really happened. It's the full circle: what should happen and what did happen.

Analyze Your Library

If you can't analyze the data, putting it in doesn't really help much. With our Library Analysis tool, you'll instantly be able to see how many and what percentage you have of anything in your library. Not only will you be able to see that information for one code, but we'll also show you the numbers on any combinations you might have (like female groups). With that information, you can make informed decisions about how to set up your rules so your station sounds the way you want.

Spin Information With a Few Clicks

Our History Browser gives you instant access to understanding what your library has done. This means not only can you find out what song played the most, but what songs haven't played at all. Whether you break this out by songs, categories, record company or any other number of ways, you'll find out what happened. The bottom graph also has many possibilities including what hours the spins occurred in as well as how much time the element accounts for. If you think your currents are getting the most air time on your station, you might be surprised what you find when you use this tool.

Special Reports for Special Needs

File it under Necessary Evil: doing reports. Raise your hand if you like to do reports. That's what we thought, not very many hands went up. That's why we've taken the work out of reports. We understand you have to file reports, sometimes to governmental agencies with very particular standards. We work with them so the report is in the format they need. That means all you have to do is fill in some options (which are saved) and run the report. It's about as painless as we can make it. You'll wish every report you had to do was this easy.

Rule Tree Wizard

We're pretty sure figuring out what rules you need isn't on your favorite things list (or Oprah's either!). The MusicMaster Rule Wizard will calculate the rules for you taking into account all variables so you can get the most out of your database. The Wizard will review rules including minimum rest, separations (like your artists) and even your coding. When it's done, Wizard will tell you what needs to be changed and to what setting. You may find out your rules are too easy or too hard. Either way, you'll get a new suggested value. If the rule is okay, the Wizard will tell you that as well. If you want, you can pick all the suggestions and implement them or pick and choose what you want.

Auto-Platoon

The dillema is that you want to maintain a certain rotation of your categories, but you have many more good songs you'd like to play. The answer to this problem is Auto-Platoon. Auto-Platoon is a way to make your database sound continually fresh while maintaining the rotations you want. Simply put, Auto-Platoon automatically moves songs in an out of your active rotation. That might mean a few songs every day, week or month or a sub-set of songs. The combinations are endless. The bottom line is that the songs that have been in the category the longest get moved out and rested and they're replaced by songs that have been out of rotation. You can set up multiple platoons so you're continuously making minor changes to the playlist while still maintaining your rotations. You'll have your audience saying, "Gee, I haven't heard that song in a long time" all day long. Oh, and just picture your competitor scratching his head trying to figure out how you're doing that. Talk about a win, win, Auto-Platoon has it in spades.
